Facebook is testing a new feature that will be implemented in the News Feed. The social networking giant promised the update will change the way users interact significantly.
As quoted by the Telegraph, on Thursday (04/21/2016), News Feed page will be divided into several parts, including the News Feed, World News, Sports and Food.
This format is familiar to those who diligently follow news reader such as Google News. Twitter and Apple also have this kind of feature.
These changes are known by one user named Tom Critchlow. In the beta version of this update, users can be alternated between sections. When choosing World and U.S. News, for example, Facebook will immediately display the corresponding news articles that choice.
Confirmed on this matter, Facebook says only that they are testing News Feed updates. It did not say whether this update will be released for all users or only a try. Facebook claims, this kind of feature user preferred.
"Many say they are interested in this option. So we test it in the feeds, so users can see more different stories of people or pages based on selected topics," Facebook said.
This is not the first time Facebook testing News Feed by topic. Last year, the site owned by Mark Zuckerberg also examine the 'Topics' on the Facebook version of the web. Topics presented include Animals & Pets, Food, Health & Fitness, and Sports.
